Before you go in, take a walk to the side of the building and just take a swift of that smell like rotten meat. The whole block is smelling like it before you go in and buy just take a walk on the side and still see if you still wanna buy.

Don’t order leitão on special holidays or religious days (Xmas, Easter, etc). They over book, the schedule list is not respected, people are slick and bypass their time and go early to grab someone else’s order. The leitão I got for Easter was rushed, no flavor, and must have been frozen ( in essence, it was uneatible). The owners need to focus on quality control, honor the reservation process and maybe take less orders to guarantee quality. Very disappointing. Ruined our holiday!!!

We found this place by searching online for a place that sells roasted young pigs and is open on Thanksgiving Day. We placed the order a few days before by calling the shop, and our roasted-to-perfection 18-lb piglet was ready for pickup at the agreed-upon time. The service and the roast were outstanding, and we are already looking for another family gathering so we can place the same order. The price was slightly over $200, but we fed twelve people and still had a leftover, and we considered it a good deal.

Absolutely a wonderful hidden gem. The quality is outstanding. If you're on the tall side watch your head, you will bump your head into meats

Definitely the best butcher in the Ironbound, probably best in Newark, possibly best in Northern NJ and MAYBE best in all of NJ? This guys wins nationwide charcuterie competitions with his house-cured meats. He breeds and raises his own pigs for crying out loud! I bought 2 pork tenderloins the other day and they were the most tender I've probably every had. I'm telling you If this shop was in Brooklyn, there would be lines out the door every day.
